Exploring the UK was one of my dreams that came true when I visited and eagerly enjoyed the beautiful vibe of United Kingdom. I took a trip to the UK with my family for the first time. Within a week, we were amused by the UK’s incredible charm, diverse culture, and stunning beauty. From the busy life of London to the iconic history of Edinburgh, the vibrant landmarks of Manchester to the exciting places of Leeds, each city is amazing to explore. We visited the UK’s famous restaurants and tried delicious local food, as well as historical museums and landmarks.
The trip was so memorable that I did not want to skip any moment to forget. Let’s find out how we explored major cities in the UK and have fun.
Day 1: Arrived in the UK
Our first day was full of travel. We just arrived in the UK from Canada after getting on a long flight. We stayed in Sofitel London Heathrow, an excellent hotel and a good start to our trip. The cool environment and comfortable resting rooms pull out all our fatigue. On the first day, we just rested and enjoyed the yummy food.
Day 2: Adventure in London
The next day, we were very excited to explore London. We woke up in the early morning and were ready to see various famous places in London. We had listened too much about the London Eye (Millennium Wheel) and visited it first. Wheel Ferris along with London’s skyline is wonderful and fascinates us much. As I love historical places, I planned to pay for a glimpse at Westminster Abbey (Anglican Church). Monastic buildings, numerous tombs, statues, and diverse heritage are attractive sites.
For kids’ entertainment, we visited the Sea Life Centre. We booked our tickets online and entered into the world of natural species. Family cheer with the charming marine creatures and theme park adventure. We got hungry, so we entered Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar and tried British food. The vivid ambiance and delicious food energized us to visit our next destination. We visited Disney’s Hercules at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane Theatre. It’s late at night; we strolled the streets of London and moved back toward our hotel.
Day 3: Explore Manchester
Another famous city, Manchester, is a cultural hub, known for thrilling places. By a private taxi, we traveled from London to Manchester. Here, we explored the Old Trafford Tour & Museum (a lovely place for football enthusiasts). Walking at the stadium reminded us of the football legends. After spending 3 hours, we got ready to visit John Rylands Library. The historical reading room, Crawford Room, and Spencer Room have a collection of known and rare books. The entrance hall of the library shows Gothic architecture. Here we shot our videos and family pictures. Then we caught a bus from Deansgate near the Library and stopped at Piccadilly Gardens. From the short walk, we reached the Manchester Northern Quarter. It’s full of street art, boutiques, shops, and cafes. We enjoyed the city’s lovely vibes.
Day 4: Trip to Glasgow
Glasgow, the vibrant city of Scotland, is the best place to explore the cultural attractions and natural beauty. At the start of the day, we started our trip from the Burrell Collection. Here, we spent hours seeing different artistic collections. Our next destination was Glasgow Botanic Gardens. In the Botanic Gardens, Kibble Palace (Glasshouse) is a beautiful place to explore. For a break, we stepped into the coffee shop and got a chance to meet with the local people. Glasgow is known for its music; therefore, we decided to enjoy live music in the Glasgow Pub. We entertained with classic, traditional, and folk music performances. At night, we strolled around the road and were amused by the artistic spark of Glasgow streets.
Day 5: Fun in Edinburgh
On the fifth day, we went to visit Edinburgh, a mixture of modern and old heritage. We began our visit to Edinburgh’s famous landmark, Edinburgh Castle. The view of the castle was mind-blowing. Many shops, restaurants, and historical landmarks made our day. In the afternoon, we visited the National Museum of Scotland and the Royal Mile. At sunset, we stayed in Holyrood Park for some time and then got ready to visit the festival theater. Here, we enjoyed opera and ballet performances and comedy programs. It was a great day in which we captured Edinburgh’s history and beauty.
Day 6: Visit to Leeds
Leeds is a famous city known for its popular, attractive places, museums, street art, and parks. On our final day, we visited Leeds and explored it the whole day. Our Leeds trip began with a historical glimpse of the Royal Armouries Museum. A national armor museum where we checked various weapons and other historical objects.
Our next destination was Roundhay Park. In the park, we explored woodlands, gardens, and lakes. Then, we visited Temple Newsam, a pretty parkland with a peaceful atmosphere. At the end of the day, we ate delicious local food and drank at a cafe. Just after 7 PM, we took a Leeds to Manchester Airport taxi because we had a flight at 9 PM from the airport.
Conclusion
From bustling London to beautiful Leeds, from historical Edinburgh to vibrant Glasgow, each UK city is incredible. Our entire trip was full of fun. We came to Canada with great memories.
